The ROOMS Book Kernel

A book about the Rooms

In November 2015, we took over the old Firestation, Magistrates Courts and Police Station in Bristol City Centre for three days to celebrate the 53 amazing projects REACT has funded. Alongside a series of installations, we hosted an exciting programme of free talks, workshops, film screenings and house parties.

In the end over 6,000 people came to join us at the festival.

Whether or not you were able to make it to The Rooms or not, we didn’t want you to miss out – so we made a book all about the event.

We asked REACT Alumnui Book Kernel – a fantastic company who make books of events and deliver them to participants straight afterwards – to document the first two days of the Rooms. Ben Gwalchmai of Book Kernel, ably assisted by young journalists from Rife, wrote, edited, and printed this book over the course of the festival. We captured stories from the launch night, and from our one-day conference on micro-businesses and the creative economy.
